GU Allows Me to Be Myself

“Diversity, diversity, diversity … there goes Hammad again, talking about gender, religion, race and the Palestinian-Israeli conflict!”

“Geez, Hammad. You are such a mainstream Georgetown student. I’m really surprised you aren’t in The Corp!”

Less Talk, More Action Needed to Achieve True Diversity at GU

Pat yourselves on the back Georgetown students, we embrace diversity. I mean, it even says so on those bright blue banners hanging around campus, and we created a new position called the Vice President for Institutional Diversity and Equity — whatever that means. While we love to talk about diversity here, rarely do we see any of it in action.

Breaking the Cultural Barrier

You can breathe a sigh of relief. This isn’t another piece about the whole Finkelstein debate. That debate, however, did inspire me to write this viewpoint. My fellow Hoyas, I want you to think about something over winter break. Do not fret — it has nothing to do with your classes.

University Appoints Permanent MSB Dean

After nearly three years without permanent leadership, the McDonough School of Business will have a new dean this fall.

George Daly, a former dean of New York University’s business school, was appointed dean of the McDonough School of Business on June 16.

Daly will oversee the MSB’s highly ranked undergraduate, MBA and International Executive MBA programs. He succeeds Reena Aggrawal, who served as interim dean during the 2004-05 school year, and who will return to the MSB’s faculty this fall.

Aggrawal was elevated to interim dean after MSB Professor John Mayo left his position as acting dean, which he had held since the 2002 departure of Dean Christopher Puto.
