The value of Georgetown’s endowment dropped nearly 9.5 percent during the first quarter of fiscal year 2008, university officials announced Thursday.

Georgetown University’s Asian American Student Association will begin the celebration of its third annual Asian Pacific American Heritage Month this Saturday, Nov. 1. The month-long celebration is also sponsored by numerous student organizations including the South Asian Society, the Chinese Student Association and Club Filipino.

The School of Foreign Service has expanded its Asian Studies program this fall with more classes drawing in more students.

Victor Cha, associate professor in the SFS and director of Asian Studies, said the university has been committed to the field, but traditionally has its focus towards undergraduates.

Diabetics may soon see a day where they will not have to prick their fingers to check blood glucose levels.

Additionally, according to Makarand Paranjape, an associate professor in the physics department, that day may be coming sooner rather than later.

Students in Georgetown’s Communication, Culture and Technology program are currently battling for control of Washington, D.C.
