After Veto, Five New Comissions
The GUSA Senate voted Wednesday to form five new student commissions after Student Association President Pat Dowd (SFS ’09) vetoed a bill passed last week to create the same commissions with a sixth, the Student Security and Safety Commission, also included. This was Dowd’s first veto as GUSA president.
Qdoba Reopens Month After Flood, Starbucks Still Closed
Qdoba on M Street reopened Friday, after closing nearly four weeks ago when a fire hydrant burst on the street and flooded the restaurant. The Starbucks next door, however, remains closed.
As promised, Qdoba slashed its prices in half on Friday for their reopening day.
Sanitized, Dining Hall Reopens
O’Donovan Hall reopened last night for dinner to a lukewarm reception, as many students are still patronizing other shops after the dining hall was closed for sanitation.
At around 6:30 p.m., when the dining hall is normally bustling with hungry students, the top floor was only about half as full as it normally is, and the bottom floor was closed.
McDonough Proves Lucky for Hoyas, Team Continues Consistent Home Record
It seems as if the Hoyas do not need a lucky rabbit’s foot or four-leaf clover — not when they have McDonough Gymnasium.
There was one consistency for Georgetown at home against Howard on Monday night. The Hoyas did not lose a single set.
Hoyas Fail to Crack Win Column
The Hoyas played their first home matches of the season last Thursday and Friday, but the team’s home advantage and strong defense were not enough to earn the hosts a win in either match.
The Hoyas fell 3-0 on Thursday against the Northwestern Wildcats and then 4-0 in a tough match against Lehigh on Friday.
