Weekend Recap
Football: Georgetown Falls to League Foe
A 13-7 first quarter lead gave the Hoyas (1-7, 0-4 Patriot League) hope for their first win since September, but four unanswered touchdowns by the Lehigh Mountain Hawks (3-5, 2-1) handed the Blue and Gray a 33-13 defeat, their seventh loss in a row.
Huskies Overpower Hoyas
The Hoyas put up a valiant fight against nationally ranked University of Connecticut, but their efforts were in vain as the Huskies swiped away the Blue and Gray 6-1.

This weekend the Hoyas raced at the Princeton Chase Regatta in New Jersey.
Georgetown’s best finish was fourth place in the men’s varsity lightweight eight event with a time of 13:42.099 — just behind top rowing universities Yale, Princeton and Navy.
Princeton had a stellar weekend at the Tigers’ home regatta and finished in the top five in every event entered.
Hoya Weekend Ruined By Villanova and Buckness Losses
It was another weekend to forget for a young Georgetown squad.
The Hoyas (0-14, 0-3 Big East) were defeated by rival Villanova 5-0 Friday night at Villanova Stadium and were outmatched against Bucknell in a 3-1 loss Sunday afternoon at the University of Maryland Field Hockey & Lacrosse Complex.
Tigers Claw Georgetown Aside
Georgetown (0-12, 0-2 Big East) fell 6-1 to Towson (9-5) Wednesday evening in College Park, Md.
The Hoyas held the Tigers to one goal in the first half, as senior goalkeeper Dee Crovo made three saves. Georgetown took as many shots as Towson in the first period — six — but could not convert on any of their chances.
Hoyas Overcome in Overtime, Suffer Narrowest Defeat of Season
The Hoyas played perhaps their best match of the season Tuesday night, yet it wasn’t quite enough. The young Georgetown squad (0-10) fell 2-1 to Rider University (3-6) in a home overtime contest at the University of Maryland Field Hockey & Lacrosse Complex.

In a Big East conference loaded with ranked teams, Georgetown is still a bit young.
Déjà Vu for Winless Hoyas in Another Loss to Elite Foes
Another weekend, another set of growing pains for the young Hoya field hockey team. The 15-player squad, which includes eight freshmen, continued to struggle against elite competition as it fell to 0-8 after Friday’s 6-0 loss at Penn State and a 4-0 defeat Sunday at Cornell.
Hoyas Fail to Crack Win Column
The Hoyas played their first home matches of the season last Thursday and Friday, but the team’s home advantage and strong defense were not enough to earn the hosts a win in either match.
The Hoyas fell 3-0 on Thursday against the Northwestern Wildcats and then 4-0 in a tough match against Lehigh on Friday.
