Women Card Fifth at Big East Tourney
After a weekend at the Big East tournament, the Hoyas will finally zip the hoods back on their golf bags, throw out their broken tees and air out their sweaty gloves at last.
Weather Slows GU's Performance
Gearing up for the Big East tournamnet, both the Georgetown men’s and women’s golf teams hit the links this weekend, competing in the Princeton Invitational and the Roar-ee Invitational, respectively. The men played their way to a 13th-place finish at Princeton’s tournament, held at the Springdale Golf Club in New Jersey.
GU Posts Solid Round to Finish Sixth
A shortened tournament may have helped the men’s golf team this weekend as the Hoyas finished tied for sixth place at the East Carolina University Intercollegiate, played at Ironwood Golf and Country Club in Greenville, NC.
“There was a very strong field, which boasted a few teams ranked in the top 75 in the nation. Our goal was to play quality golf,” Head Coach Thomas Hunter said.
Host Hoyas Disappoint, Finish Fifth at Invitational
Cold weather and unfriendly rain plagued the Georgetown women’s golf team this week, as the Hoyas hosted the Hoya Invitational at the Member’s Club at Four Streams in Maryland. Despite the home-course advantage, Georgetown placed fifth in the fourteen-team field, behind the winning Princeton Tigers.
Hoyas Shake Off Winter Rust in First Few Events of Spring
With the thaw of winter’s last snow, the Georgetown men’s and women’s golf teams have taken to the links again for the spring 2008 season.
