Sophmore forward Jerrelle Benimon is planning to transfer, though it is unclear where.
The exodus continues.
Sophomore forward Jerrelle Benimon is transferring from Georgetown, Head Coach John Thompson III announced Wednesday.
"Jerrelle is transferring, and although he has not announced where he will go, wherever it is, we wish him all of the best," Thompson said in a press release.
The announcement follows sophomore guard Vee Sanford's news in early in April that he would be transferring, while sophomore forward Hollis Thompson declared for the NBA draft less than two weeks ago.
Benimon, a 6-foot-7 big man out of Warrenton, Va., came off the bench in all 32 of the Hoyas' contests this season, averaging 1.3 points and 1.8 rebounds in just over 10 minutes per game. He scored a career-high nine points on 4-of-7 shooting in Georgetown's 99-75 blowout of Loyola on December 18.
If Thompson does not return after declaring for the draft, the 2011 Hoya squad will not have any juniors. However, his decision does open up a scholarship for unsigned recruits in the high school class of 2011. Kevin Ware, an ESPNU Top 100 guard from Conyers, Ga., was offered a scholarship by Georgetown before signing with Tennessee. He has since backed out of commitments to Tennessee and Central Florida and reopened his recruiting.

Good luck to Jerrelle wherever he goes. He'll probably get more playing time than if he stayed here anyways with Porter, Adams, and Hopkins now in the mix.
