Sophomore guard Vee Sanford will not return to the Hilltop next season.

The scholarship math has officially been solved.

Sophomore guard Vee Sanford is transferring from Georgetown, Sports Information Director Mex Carey confirmed on Monday. With Sanford's departure, the Hoyas now have 13 scholarship players, including a group of five incoming freshmen headlined by 6-foot-9 forward Otto Porter.

Sanford's destination is currently unknown.

In 54 games on the Hilltop, the 6-foot-3, 180-pound guard was never able to find consistent playing time in a backcourt dominated by senior guards Austin Freeman and Chris Wright and junior guard Jason Clark. Freshman guard Markel Starks is set to take over at point guard, and talented two-guard Jabril Trawick is on board for 2011-2012.

Sanford posted an acknowledgment of his decision on his Twitter account on April 15: "No animosity toward gtown. I just feel its best 4 me2 move on. I've learned a lot and Its been a humbling experience. Thank u hoya nation."

The news first came to light when FoxSports.com writer Jeff Goodman included Sanford on his list of outgoing transfers.

Sanford to Transfer After Two SeasonsSanford leaves Georgetown after averaging 1.8 points on 45 percent shooting from the field and from beyond the arc.
