The men's lightweight crew team rowed to a record second-place finish at the 102nd National Championships in June, ending a successful season highlighted by a third-place finish at Eastern Sprints in May. The second- and third-place finishes were the program's best showings ever at the season's final two events.

Navy concluded its undefeated season with a victory at the championships, with Georgetown three seconds behind. Princeton took third.

The team's spring season ended July 1 in the second round of England's Henley Royal Regatta with a loss to D.S.R. Proteus-Eretes of Holland.

The women's lightweight team finished the season with a fourth-place finish at the National Championships. Wisconsin, which the fourth-ranked Hoyas had defeated earlier in the season, took first, followed by Princeton and Radcliffe. The women's team was coming off a successful bid at Sprints at which the lightweight eight took fourth and the varsity four placed third.

Both the men's and women's fall seasons begin Oct. 2 with Georgetown's Head of the Potomac Regatta.
