Hoyas Fall to Penn in Homecoming Game

Under crystal clear skies and a packed house full of students and alumni, Georgetown took the field on homecoming Saturday fully rejuvenated and ready to play after the team’s inadvertent bye week due to the norovirus. Ten Hoya players had been infected in the epidemic that swept the campus, and last week’s road game against Colgate was cancelled by Patriot League officials as a precaution.

After a 10-game undefeated streak to open the season, Georgetown suffered their first loss this weekend against top-ranked Notre Dame. The Hoyas (9-1-2, 4-1 Big East) were defeated by the Fighting Irish (14-0, 7-0) 3-1 on Friday afternoon, but the squad came back strong on Sunday as they topped DePaul (2-13, 0-7) 4-0.

Thompson Lands Second 2010 Prospect

The basketball season is just over a month away, but Head Coach John Thompson is thinking years down the line.

Thompson received Tuesday his second verbal commitment from the class of 2010, landing forward Nate Lubick. Lubick joins Georgetown Prep guard Markel Starks in the recruiting class.
