When did you first start running? Seventh grade.
Why Georgetown? I stayed here with a friend of mine from Loudonville when she was a sophomore when I was looking at schools. I just loved her friends and I thought this place was great.
What are the girls on the team like? They’re my best friends here, they’re awesome. Everyone supports each other, it’s great. We’ve got a good group.
What is a typical practice like? Practice is really fun, we all meet here [in McDonough], and then everyone splits up and does their own thing and we talk the whole time. It’s my favorite part of day.
Who on the team do you rely on the most? Probably Joanna Rodgers. She’s like totally level headed all the time. She’s the captain too, she’s awesome.
Who’s the biggest joker on the team? Avril Ogrodnick. Oh God, Avril. I don’t know if I can tell you the things she’s done, I don’t want to get in trouble.
Any Superstitions? I used to be really superstitious back in high school but not anymore.
What was it like playing for Georgetown for the first time? The very first time, I think the most exciting part was putting on the uniform. I still get excited doing it. I don’t even really remember what I was feeling, it was just so cool.
Biggest rival? Not a particular person, but our biggest rival is Villanova.
If you could be great at any other sport, what would it be? Why? If I was a guy, I would want to be a basketball player for sure. But if I could be good at really other sport, I’d like to be really good at tennis.
Most embarrassing moment? I’m sure there’s so many of them, but I’ve blocked them all out.
Best moment in your career so far? Probably the trials at the national meet in my junior year.
Freshman residence hall? Harbin. I liked it, but the girls on my floor not so much. The guys were fun though, I’m still friends with a lot of them. And our RA was awesome, he’d bake a cake every month for people’s birthdays.
Your hardest class in Georgetown? Intro to Psych. It was awful.
What is the one thing you miss most about home? My mom’s cooking.
Do you have any siblings? Yeah, I have a younger brother John who’s actually on the track team here, and then another brother in high school and a younger sister.
What’s it like having a brother here? We don’t really see each other much because I live off campus and he’s in Kennedy. But it’s exciting, it’s fun having a sibling here. We’re always at the same meets so we’ll watch each other and support each other.
Favorite movie? Circle of Friends.
Favorite escape from Georgetown? Running around Roosevelt Island.
Greatest inspiration? Probably my great aunt, she’s a nun, Sister Rose. She’s turning 80. If I’m as cool as her when I’m 80 it’d be awesome.
Any advice for anyone who wants to start running? It’s supposed to be fun, so don’t stress out about it.
Booey’s or Wiseys? Booey’s. I’m in my fifth year here and I’ve gotten only one sandwich from Wisey’s.
