Friday, January 11
This Friday, R&B singer Ne-Yo is hosting and possibly performing at H20. This club will have great music, tons of dancing and even a free buffet from 9 to 11 p.m. H20 is an 18-and-older club with free admission for females. There’s no better way to get the new semester started than with a rocking night of dancing. Ne-Yo is performing at 9 p.m. at H20, 800 Water St., SW. Admission is free for ladies, and men can get on the guest list by going to h2odc.com. Metro: Waterfront-SEU (Green Line).

Saturday, January 12
Art aficionados, today is your very last chance to view The Wolf Kahn Exhibition at the Addison/Ripley Art Gallery. This exhibit is a great mix of Kahn’s oil and pastel artworks. Kahn is a famed and greatly honored American colorist and has been a noted artist for over 50 years. He uses depth and layers to show the truth and essence of the subjects of his paintings. T
he Wolf Kahn Exhibition is open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. The exhibit is located at the Addison/Ripley Art Gallery, 1670 Wisconsin Ave., NW. The exhibit is free and within walking distance.

Sunday, January 13
See the premiere of the HBO documentary “The Gates” today at 5 p.m. Directed by the couple Christo and Jeanne-Claude, “The Gates” is about their most recent public art project, an ephemeral display of bright orange fabric in Central Park. After the screening, Christo and Jeanne-Claude will host a question-and-answer session to explain the meaning behind their work.

Monday, January 14
You’re running out of time! The special exhibit of Edward Hopper’s artwork that the National Gallery of Art has been holding since September is closing a week from today. It includes Hopper’s epic painting “Nighthawks,” a must-see for any art lover. Many of his paintings are based on the influential women throughout his life. The Edward Hopper Exhibition is at the National Gallery of Art, located at 600 Constitution Ave., NW. The exhibit is free to the public. For more information, call 202-737-4215. Tuesday, January 15
Wouldn’t it be “Loverly” to see “My Fair Lady” performed live? Tonight, you can do just that when the Tony Award-winning musical plays at the Kennedy Center. This show is a great opportunity to see wonderful actors and actresses performing a traditional play. The musical version of George Bernard Shaw’s “Pygmalion” has delighted both young and old with numbers such as “I Could Have Danced All Night” and “On the Street Where You Live.”
“My Fair Lady” is playing tonight at the Kennedy Center at 7:30 p.m. The tickets cost $25 to $100. For more information, call 202-467-4600.

Wednesday, January 16
Tuck & Patti, a jazz band with a classical influence, is performing at the Blues Alley, located within walking distance from campus. They often play everything from classical music to Elvis Presley, so the show is perfect for musicians of any style. Their show is sure to be full of great rhythm, good melodies and lots of fun. The band has a new album coming out soon, so this is a great opportunity to scout out a possible new favorite band.

Thursday, January 17
Tipper Gore, wife of Al Gore, and Jodi Cobb are having a meet, greet and discussion about their lives as photographers. They will be showing many of their works, describing them and giving some background information about what their art means to them and society.
Tipper Gore and Jodi Cobb will be at the Corcoran Gallery of Art at 7 p.m. The tickets cost $35 and are available by calling 202-639-1700. Metro: Farragut North (Blue and Orange Lines).
