Health Care Milestone: The House of Representatives passed a health care bill by a vote of 220-215. Thirty-nine Democrats opposed the bill while one Republican representative, Anh Cao (R-La.), supported it. Thumbs Up

Bleak Outlook: The national unemployment rate has jumped to 10.2 percent, the highest rate since 1983. Thumbs Down

Renewal: Saad Hariri (MSB ’92), Lebanese prime minister-designate and son of Rafik B. (namesake of the MSB building), has formed his new government, ending a five-month period of political instability. Thumbs Up

Promiscuous Palin: Levi Johnston, the father of Bristol Palin’s child, has agreed to pose nude for Playgirl Magazine. Thumbs Down

Bipartisan Holiday Cheer: An 85-foot blue spruce from Sen. John McCain’s home state of Arizona has been selected to be the White House Christmas tree. Thumbs Up
