Cosi and Full Service Starbucks to be Introduced to Leavey Center Dining Options
Campus dining is getting a little bit classier.
In an effort to provide more choices for food and drink on campus, the university plans to introduce a Cosi and bring its already existing Starbucks station into full service in the current site of the Center Grill in the North Gallery of the Leavey Center.
“Auxiliary Services worked with ARAMARK Higher Education to bring Cosi, a nicer sandwich place, to campus,” said Andy Pino, director of media relations for Georgetown’s office of public affairs.
Since last year, Georgetown has embarked upon a five-year partnership with ARAMARK, a provider of dining services at colleges and universities, to improve student dining and enhance catering services.
In addition to the increased chain venue options, students will also have the option of grabbing a bite at a second location for Grab ’n’ Go in the Leavey Center. This new station will also be located on the site currently occupied by the Center Grill in the Leavey Center.
“The new Cosi and Grab ’n’ Go, together with the expanded Starbucks, will give students, faculty and staff more options on campus,” Pino said.
Jesse Scharff (COL ’09), president and CEO of The Corp, Georgetown’s student-run corporation, welcomes the competition.
“It will inspire us to better serve our community as well as highlight our longstanding student-operated connection to Georgetown,” he said.
He stressed The Corp’s “quality low-priced products” and “annual donations of tens of thousands of dollars to campus,” which contrast larger, for-profit corporations like Starbucks and Cosi.
Tentative opening dates for the new dining options have yet to be announced.
“There’re still so many plans in the works,” said Kendra Boyer, marketing coordinator for ARAMARK Dining and Catering Services. “I can confirm that it’s coming,” Boyer said.
Flex Dollars will be accepted at the new locations, according to a brochure released by the university promoting meal plans at Georgetown.
The two new locations are among the recent developments in food and dining in Georgetown, which include the remodeling O’Donovan Hall.
In addition to more meal options, a registered dietician will be available to meet with students on a GU meal plan free of charge. Students will be able to meet with her on a one-on-one or group basis in her office on the lower level of O’Donovan Hall to discuss any nutritional or fitness questions and concerns.

I don't think it is the proper place or role of the Hoya's editorial board to pontificate about inconsequential personal choices of students. This editorial is too frivolous-there must be something more important you can write about.dizi izle haber program indir
