The Catalan Lectureship at Georgetown University invites you to celebrate Sant Jordi, the day of the book and the rose, the most important holiday in Catalonia:

9.15 am. CATALONIA: PAST, PRESENT, FUTURE. (ICC 450)
Inaugural presentation by Dr. Albert Carreras. the Prince of Asturias Distinguished Visiting Professor on Spanish Studies

11 am. COOKING IN CATALONIA ( Old North 205)
Presentation by the prestigious Spanish cook, José Andrés, the mind behind some of the best restaurants in the Washington DC area such as Jaleo, el Café Atlántico, etc... and mentee of Ferran Adrià in his world famous cooking school.

1 pm. SANT JORDI TABLE ( Red Square )
The students of the Catalan Culture and Society course will be handing out roses and books to those able to anwer our Catalan Culture test.

2.45 pm. FC BARCELONA- MANCHESTER UD. FUTBOL GAME: SEMIFINALS CHAMPIONS LEAGUE. ( ICC 662 )

4.30 pm. PRESENTATIONS BY THE STUDENTS OF THE CATALAN CULTURE AND SOCIETY COURSE (ICC 108)
The students will present some projects for the course

6 pm. "MY DEAR, THESE THINGS ARE LIFE:A HUNDRED YEARS OF MERCÈ RODOREDA" (Conference Room SFS. ICC 7th floor)
Lecture on Mercè Rodoreda by the Catalan writer Roser Caminals.

7.15 pm. CATALAN FILM FESTIVAL 2008: CASTELLS (Gereon Wetzel, 2006) (ICC 450)
Last film of the Catalan Film Festival. Best documentary award at the International Documentary Festival Munich 2006.

8.30 pm. CATALONIAN FOOD TASTING (ICC 450)
