Who says fireworks are only for kids and the Fourth of July? With the blossoming of the cherry trees comes the Cherry Blossom Festival, and this year on the Southwest Waterfront, D.C. will celebrate the famous trees with a fireworks show. Get there early to enjoy over three hours of musical entertainment, including performances by the Army Band and Sea Chanties.

Are you simply a pop culture aficionado or a hardcore fan of Andy Warhol? If so, or if you just want to try something different, check out Warhol’s Sleep, his film depicting poet John Giorno. Silent and filmed in grainy black and white with repeats of the same scenes, this five-hour-plus film will be a rewarding test for even the most avid film or Andy Warhol fans.

Well, so is Scott Schuman — or rather, as he calls himself, “The Sartorialist.” Before launching his blog, he worked in the fashion industry for 15 years. Since 2001, he has posted on the Web photos of real people and their fashion on the streets of cities around the world and his corresponding commentaries have been regarded as an Internet sensation. The photos are the latest exhibit at Dupont’s Adamson Gallery.
