Observatory Open House

04/20/2008 - 11:00am to 04/20/2008 - 3:00pm

The Georgetown University Astronomical Society (GUAS) invites all Georgetown students, faculty, staff and community members to the Heyden Observatory for an Open House on Sunday, April 20 from 11am-3pm. The Observatory was built in 1843 and is the third-oldest university observatory in the country, harboring a wealth of Georgetown history and tradition. GUAS has been the steward of the Dome since the club's inception in 1973 and would like to share this marvelous building with the rest of the Georgetown community.

We will be giving tours of the building as well as demonstrating use of the telescopes in the Dome. There will also be grilled hotdogs, hamburgers, s'mores, and other food available for lunch for a nominal fee. We hope to see you there! Please bring your friends and family.
