Celebrate Pearl Harbor Day at the U.S. Naval Heritage Center, which is holding a commemorative ceremony to mark the “day which will live in infamy.” There will be a wreath-laying at noon, followed by a discussion led by George Victor, the author of The Pearl Harbor Myth: Rethinking the Unthinkable.

“The Nation’s Capital Christmas” is a three-hour walking tour that will highlight the Capital’s Christmas celebrations and traditions. This walking tour will include many important parts of D.C. Christmas history, like the White House Christmas tree, the Church of the Presidents, the Renwick Gallery of Arts and Crafts and the Daughters of the American Revolution Museum.

Acumen Solutions is hosting a “Jingle All the Way 10K” run this morning to benefit the SEED Foundation, which provides educational opportunities for under-privileged students. The course follows the Potomac River, snakes around the tip of Hains Point and continues through East Potomac Park. Following the race, an awards ceremony and reception will take place.

Renowned trumpeter Dave Detwiler is performing his “A Prelude Christmas” concert with the group Prelude at Blues Alley. This concert will feature many classic songs — get ready for “Jingle Bells” — and more modern Christmas songs. Prelude is made up of professional musicians who are present or former members of DC-based military bands.

For a new spin on the traditional sounds of Christmas music, head over to A Celtic Christmas at the Dumbarton United Methodist Church. The concert will highlight Christmas traditions from Ireland and the British Isles, featuring The Linn Barnes & Allison Hampton Celtic Consort as the main performers. It will include a variety of instruments such as bagpipes, harp, flute and lute.
