GU Solidarity Will Continue Fight for Justice

To the Editor:

My senior year at Georgetown we fought extremely hard to get our campus to focus on the plight of the Georgetown worker. Thanks to the organizing efforts of Georgetown’s Solidarity Committee and many other campus groups, we organized and got a commitment to ensuring that every worker on campus is treated with dignity and respect by having the university pay them the true value of their sweat and labor.

I am concerned that less than a year later, my alma mater has forgotten or ignored this commitment, and I write to urge the student body to follow through with the administration to get the living wage promises fulfilled for every worker in a timely manner.

The Georgetown Solidarity Committee is at the forefront of this social justice cause, and every student must be involved in creating a more inclusive and fair Georgetown community. Count on the support of the Class of 2005 to keep social justice alive in our community and at Georgetown.
