Woman Crashes Car Into Whole Foods, Causes Minor Damage
A car crashed into the Whole Foods Market store in Georgetown on Thursday, causing a part of the store to collapse. The damages were not severe.
“After a full assessment of the damages to the structure on Friday morning, we were able to re-open and return to business as normal” said Alex Torres, assistant store team leader at Whole Foods Georgetown.
According to The Washington Examiner, Pete Piringer, a D.C. Fire Department spokesman, said rescuers were called to the store immediately that evening. The driver of the car, an elderly woman, had minor injuries. Piringer states that the car struck an elevator shaft, but there were no other injuries.
“No other customer or team members were injured,” Torres said.
