A Georgetown student was reportedly sexually assaulted early Sunday morning and was later transported to a nearby hospital with a broken shoulder, according to the Department of Public Safety.

A female student reported an unknown black male entered a residence of the 1400 block of Wisconsin Avenue and sexually assaulted her at approximately 4:50 a.m., according to a Metropolitan Police Department release. She was alone in the residence.

MPD responded to the scene and later informed DPS of the incident, according to a public safety announcement issued yesterday afternoon.

“The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 25 years to 28 years of age, about 5 feet, 8 inches in height, weighing approximately 150 pounds, and has either a close haircut or a shaved head,” the MPD release stated.

The victim’s shoulder was broken during the attack. She was treated at a nearby hospital and has since been released. DPS declined to comment, and MPD was unable to provide further comment at this time.
