A backpack containing an employee’s laptop was stolen from an unlocked office in Reiss Science Building Wednesday, the Department of Public Safety reported.

According to a public safety alert emailed to the campus community Wednesday evening, a Georgetown employee reported to DPS that he or she had left the office around 10:30 that morning and returned around 3:30 to find the backpack missing.

This is the second burglary in Reiss Science Building to be reported this month. There are no suspects listed in the PSAs for either incident. Both were referred to the Metropolitan Police Department, which is handling the ongoing investigations.
