NHS Dean to Step Down at End of Academic Year

NHS Dean Bette Jacobs will step down at the end of the 2009-2010 academic year, according to an e-mail sent to faculty and staff by University President John J. DeGioia today. Jacobs, who has served as dean since 1999, will remain at Georgetown as a professor in the NHS and as a distinguished scholar at the O’Neill Institute, DeGioia said.

DPS: Anti-Gay Graffiti Found in Copley

The discovery of graffiti containing anti-gay language in Copley Hall was reported to the Department of Public Safety Wednesday afternoon. According to Sergeant David Ruiz of DPS, the markings were reported to the Metropolitan Police Department’s Gay and Lesbian Liaison Unit Thursday morning for further investigation.
