Burglary, 3300 Block of Prospect St. NW, 4:20 a.m.

A complainant filed a report with DPS and MPD after she was startled by the presence of an unknown male lying beside her. The male immediately exited the residence and fled in an unknown direction and was not identified. A joint investigation by MPD and the DPS Office of Investigations is ongoing.

Friday, March 20

Theft, Mortara Building, 5:00 p.m.

A complainant reported the theft of a cell phone from their office. No suspects or witnesses have been identified. An investigation by the DPS Office of Investigations is ongoing.

Saturday, March 21

Property Damage, Copley Lawn, 8:16 a.m.

A report was filed in reference to a person or persons unknown defacing the Our Lady of Fatima statue by painting the face red. Facilities personnel were notified, and the paint was removed. No suspects or witnesses have been identified. An investigation by the DPS Office of Investigations is ongoing.

Harassment, Darnall Hall, 7:48 p.m.

A complainant filed a report after receiving several unwanted text messages. The persons responsible for sending the messages have been identified. An investigation by the DPS Office of Investigations is ongoing.

Simple Assault, Henle Village, 1:20 a.m.

A complainant filed a report after being pushed and hit by a suspect that has been identified. MPD was notified, and a subsequent joint investigation by MPD and the DPS Office of Investigations is ongoing. The complainant did not require medical attention.

Destruction of Property, Copley Hall, 1:30 a.m.

A report was filed in reference to a person or persons unknown defacing an area near the steps of Copley with paint. An investigation by the DPS Office of Investigations is ongoing. No suspects or witnesses have been identified

Destruction of Property, Village A, 4:50 p.m.

A report was filed in reference to a person or persons unknown defacing an exterior wall with paint. An investigation by the DPS Office of Investigations is ongoing. No witnesses or suspects have been identified.

Destruction of Property, Leavey Center, 6:08 p.m.

A report was filed in reference to a person or persons unknown defacing a brick wall with paint. An investigation by the DPS Office of Investigations is ongoing. No suspects or witnesses have been identified.

Suspicious Activity, Lauinger Library, 6:32 p.m.

A complainant reported that while using a stairwell inside of Lauinger an unknown male approached her and attempted to place his face against her breast. The suspect departed the area after being challenged by the complainant. The suspect was later identified and barred from campus. MPD was notified, and it was determined by their officers that no sexual assault had occurred. An investigation by the DPS Office of Investigations is ongoing.
