As a Georgetown parent, I am extremely worried about the escalation of serious incidents on and around campus. Because my daughter had the unfortunate experience of coming face-to-face with an intruder inside her Henle apartment, I have taken the time to write to the university president, the vice president for student affairs and the director of the public safety department, inquiring as to what steps the university is taking to better ensure the safety of its students. While both students and staff can take certain precautions, I think it is time for the administration to take immediate action to create a more secure environment for the entire Georgetown family.
