On Monday night against a tough Mount St. Mary’s squad, which played the Hoyas close last season, John Thompson III’s team got the job done as a unit. Four players scored in double digits as the Hoyas overcame 15 turnovers to score over 80 points for the second straight game and win their fifth in a row.
In front of 9,172 at Verizon Center, sophomore guard Jason Clark had 19 points, six assists, five rebounds and three steals, to lead Georgetown (4-0) to a 97-64 over Lafayette (4-2).
Georgetown was picked to finish fifth in the 16-team Big East in the conference’s preseason coaches poll, and sophomore center Greg Monroe was named to the preseason all-Big East first team.
