It was only fitting that Rezin broke Georgetown’s season digs record in her hometown of Chicago. She was able to celebrate the victory and her record with the people who have played a crucial role throughout her volleyball career — her family.

With a smashing kill, senior right side hitter Kiersten McKoy closed out the DePaul Blue Demons, Georgetown’s volleyball season and her Georgetown volleyball career. In the same match, Tory Rezin broke the Georgetown record for digs in a season.

Although the Hoyas (13-15, 3-9 Big East) split their two home games last weekend, Georgetown was able to compete with the top teams in the Big East, defeating Cincinnati 3-0 on Friday and losing to Louisville 3-1 on Sunday.

The Hoyas returned to their winning ways against Villanova on Sunday.

Heading into the thick of their conference schedule, the Georgetown volleyball team (11-14, 1-8 Big East) was unable to gain a victory Saturday at South Florida (12-5, 5-3).

As easy as it is to get in a rut, it can be even more difficult to get out of it.

The Georgetown women’s volleyball team (11-11, 1-5 Big East) will certainly try to learn from its mistakes while not dwelling on the past.
