TO THE EDITOR:

The Presidents’ Day long weekend is at hand.

One suggestion for Hoyas is to jump on a bus or train and travel to Central Park in New York City, to walk through Christo’s saffron-colored exhibit of “Gates” – over 7,000 gates, along 23 miles of footpaths. This work of vibrant, participatory public and fleeting art will only remain in existence until Feb. 27.

I find it hard to communicate why I found this such an amazing experience. All I know is that my heart soared as I explored this effort to humanize the world and as I watched the delight of the crowds around me.

Seize the day!
