SAVVY AWARDS TheHoya.com Wins University Wire Design Award By Tracy Zupancis Hoya Staff Writer
The University Wire Editor’s Board awarded TheHoya.com their “Savvy” award for the best Web site for a non-daily university paper last week.
The Savvy award competition is held annually by U-Wire, a university news compilation service. The board makes their decisions based on breadth of coverage, Web-only features and design.
This year, over 50 university newspaper Web sites applied to compete in the Savvies, and four papers won awards.
In the daily newspaper category, University of Illinois’ The Daily Illini, Penn State’s Daily Collegian and Harvard’s The Harvard Crimson garnered a savvy award for each of their Web sites.
TheHoya.com was the only paper to win in the non-daily category.
